Hi! My name is Angel Mathis, MN, MPH, RN, ARNP, FNP-Bc.
I’m a financially free nurse millionaire–who works when I want, if I want. I'm the founder of Nurses Investing For Wealth.
I’ve been a nurse since 2002 and an NP since 2008.
I’m the past president of the King County Nurses Association (Seattle) and a previous American Nurses Association Advocacy Institute Fellow. I have been a researcher with the National Institute of Health and you can see my work in journals like JAMA, NEJM, Pediatrics, and more. I’ve been in charge of big operational budgets, but the truth is, that isn't where I learned to manage my personal finances.
I’m a nurse from a humble family.
As a child, I ate free school lunches. Bill collectors regularly threatened to cut the electricity or repossess our home. I haven’t received any major inheritance, and I haven’t won the lottery.
I was determined to break my family’s cycle of generational poverty.
Through years of self study and developing my own systems, I surprised myself when–at 35 years old–I was able to stop depending on gainful employment to pay my bills. I could afford to retire from nursing at 35!
By the time I was 40 years old I'd spent years balancing creative interests, spending time outside, and traveling. I'd purchased a home and multiple cars in cash, and along the way I had become a millionaire, even though that was never my intentional goal.
I’m as ordinary as ordinary gets. If I can be a nurse millionaire, any nurse can.
Today, I teach nurses the principles and proprietary money method that I built and tested across 15+ years.
